Dear Friends
My name is Rev’d Kelvin Inglis, and I am the Rector of St Thomas’s Church.
I write to invite you to join in thirty minutes of madness for a good cause.

Shrove Tuesday is coming soon which means that the annual Salisbury International Pancake Race will be on Tuesday 1st March at 11am, and once again St Thomas’s are teaming up with the Salisbury Foodbank to raise awareness of poverty, homelessness and social exclusion in local communities.
How can you help on Tuesday 1st March?
I write to formally invite you, your colleagues and friends to participate in the 2022 Salisbury International Pancake Race, organised as before under the rules of the International Federation of Pancake Races or F.L.I.P. in gourmet French.
- 10.45am gathering opposite Waterstones Bookshop for an 11am start;
- Please race with clear advertising for your shop or organisation;
- Each competitor will race carrying a frying pan (which we will provide), containing a pancake (which we will provide) and, as last year, there will be official flipping points (OFPs) along the track. Failure to flip your pancake will result in disqualification;
- The winner will be the fastest down the track;
- As in previous years we are hoping for lots of entries and there may be a series of heats to determine the overall winner;
- There will be a prize for the team wearing the best fancy dress
- To assist you in entering this amazing event, each shop or organisation is strongly encouraged to have more than one representative. This could be a family member, colleague or friend provided they are carrying the name of the organisation. One member of the team will run in each round.
To enter, please complete the enclosed form and return to St Thomas’s Parish Office or email it to: [email protected]
Your help and support for this good cause would be much appreciated and I look forward to hearing from you.
With very best wishes and thanks
