Preparing for Christmas 2024 with Reverse Advent

Now Harvest is almost under our belt, we are truly thankful for the generous donations collected by Schools, Churches, Community Groups and business’ to support our community this winter.

So far we have recorded 5 tonnes of stock donated across 60 groups. Well DONE all involved.  Our target to match last year was 7 tonnes.  7 Tonnes is about the amount of food we issued to local people experiencing hardship in Salisbury and the surrounding areas per month.

As we head towards the winter months, please continue to support the people of Salisbury.   We want to make Christmas Special this year for thousands of people.  We have committed to support 200 people and families with a ambient Christmas hamper of goodies take the pressure from them and make their day special.  Referrals for this Christmas hamper will be shared with referral partners during November.  To make this happen we need your help once again..

What is reverse Advent?  We are asking people, families, community groups to donate 24 Items to the foodbank before ADVENT starts, this will allow us to sort, prepare and deliver the 200 hampers to local people this year.

I  would like to take this opportunity to offer out heart warm thanks to Mark and his teams at “A World of Furniture” who have supported our hamper project for over a decade, bringing Joy and magic to thousands of families when they need it most.  They have reluctantly passed to batten onto a new delivery partner whose team are looking forward to assist this season… more to be revealed on that in November.
